One of our very unique features at Apostle Highlands Weddings are the retractable screens on our open air reception hall. For as much time and effort and planning that goes into your wedding, mother nature doesn't always cooperate on your special day. However with our retractable screens we can still offer a wonderful view and open air concept without letting the weather in. But the weather doesn't have to be bad to put these screens to good use.
Because we have multiple sections of screens that all work independently we can raise and lower certain sections to your liking. Sometimes it just nice to cut down some of that beautiful sunlight coming in or block that slight breeze that keeps blowing the napkins around. Beyond the practical uses of dealing with weather, the screens also add a little privacy to your event. While you can see perfectly through the screen from the inside allowing you to enjoy the scenery, the ability to see in from the outside is greatly reduced.
Our venue is fairly private in general due to our location but sometimes there may be people walking or golfing nearby. To date it's never been an issue for our guests here at Apostle Highlands Weddings but each group is different and we're happy to accommodate. So whether you want your reception completely open air or prefer a little mood setting, with our retractable screens at Apostle Highlands Weddings we'll make sure your special day is one to remember for a long time.]]>
While there have been weddings at the Apostle Highlands Golf Course over the years, it wasn’t until 2011 when a new ceremony patio was added (which had a view of Lake Superior and several islands) that people began to see the potential for a wonderful venue for weddings with Apostle Highlands Weddings.
In 2012, while beginning to book a fair number of weddings and attending bridal shows around the midwest to spread the word, Apostle Highlands Weddings added an open air covered pavilion. With retractable see through screens, this new pavilion allowed guests to enjoy the full open air concept or hold mother nature back just a bit while still enjoying the wonderful sounds and views 500 feet about Lake Superior.
And with 2013 being the biggest wedding season yet, one that attracted couples to this northern gem from all over Wisconsin as well as Michigan, Minnesota, and as far away as Illinois, Apostle Highlands Weddings is quickly becoming a featured destination wedding venue around the Midwest. Even our guests have traveled far to enjoy the venue and memories created, some all the way from Colorado and Florida.
With many happy couples and visitors already in the books we look forward to the future.]]>
Apostle Highlands Weddings is pleased to announce the completion of our brand new covered reception pavilion. With this new addition to the venue, no matter the weather on you wedding day, you'll still be treated to a majestic vista overlooking beautiful Lake Superior at AHW.
The new pavilion seats up to 250 guests and has a host of other amenities like restrooms, a climate controlled changing/ready room for the bride, and is completely wired for all your technical needs as well. We even have an ipod station fitted as a wall jack for easy connectivity to your preferred audio needs. And of course don't forget the view as you look out over the golf course towards the Apostle Islands of this destination wedding hotspot in Northern Wisconsin.
